The process of obtaining these resin sealants is relatively quick. First, the deep grooves of the tooth will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The area is kept dry before a unique solution is applied to the surfaces of the teeth to roughen them and allow the PRR sealant to bond properly. The teeth are rinsed and dried, and then resin material is painted onto the surfaces of the teeth that need protection. The PRR sealant is hardened with a specialized curing light to complete the process.

Patients who want to extend the longevity of their resin sealants will need to participate in proper home oral care, including brushing and flossing.
